God’s peace in Christ Jesus to you!
This is week two of small group services at church. Obviously, the elderly, and those with underlying medical conditions, should use the utmost of discretion in what you do. As I mentioned in last week’s letter, this is a no judgment zone concerning those who are more comfortable staying at home. Governor Evers’ stay at home order does allow for exceptions concerning “Essential Businesses and Operations.” Item h. says, Weddings, funerals and religious entities. Religious facilities, entities, groups and gatherings, and weddings and funerals, except that any gathering shall include fewer than 10 people in a room or confined space at a time and individuals shall adhere to Social Distancing Requirements as much as possible.
Since there are those who greatly desire a time of worship, St. Paul’s will continue to offer our small group service times. The times are: Saturday night at 5:30pm, and Sunday morning at 8:15, 9:30, and 10:45am. The two locations, each served by a pastor, are in the sanctuary and the Assembly room below the church office. Overflow seating, if needed, is available in the fellowship hall.
Last Sunday, we also streamed the 8:15 service over Facebook Live and received over 60 views in that time slot alone. The same thing will happen this week. The church Facebook page is: http://Facebook.com/stpaulslutheransheboygan Each service streamed will remain on that page for later viewing as well.
If you choose not to come to church, set apart some of the time you would have been here for God’s Word. Watch the live stream. Get out your catechism and hymnal to receive God’s promises in Christ Jesus for you. Remember your church and fellow members in prayer. Pray for our country. Your spiritual link to your Savior, is always your best comfort in any time of difficulty. Most of all, be at peace in the forgiveness Jesus won for you on the cross and know that His resurrection life and the Holy Spirit are still at work for you! Also, if you desire pastoral service at your home, please call us. We will also keep you informed of any other changes that take place. I should also add that this time of reduced numbers has also meant reduced offerings. If you are able to mail in your regular gifts or drop them off, that too helps.
Jesus has promised, “I am with you always, even until the end of the age!” His power and promises go with us always. Be confident and joyful that others may see your confidence in Christ and be encouraged by your witness.
